MO Water Polo end of Season News
To the Missouri Water Polo Community –
As we get ready for the State Tournament, I wanted to put out a few reminders of dates as well as an update on the Board of Missouri Water Polo.
1 – The Missouri Water Polo All Star Game and Banquet will take place on Wednesday May 15th at Lindbergh High School. Right now the Women’s Game will be at 4 pm, Senior All Star Game at 5 pm with the Awards banquet to follow. The cost is $5 per person to be paid at the door.
2 – The Missouri Water Polo annual board meeting will take place at 7 pm on Wednesday May 29th.
The meeting will be at the Oak bend Library Branch at 842 S Holmes Ave, St. Louis MO 63122. This is near the intersection of 44 and Big Bend in Kirkwood.
At the Meeting there will be an election for new board members and officers for the coming year.
A number of board members and myself are planning on stepping down and we are searching for members of the Missouri Water Polo community who want to step up and help out our beloved sport.
Missouri Water Polo is a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps out in the efforts to grow the sport in our area. We assist in anyway needed in the high school season including providing game balls and trophies for the state tournament, putting together the Tournament program as well as putting on the Awards Banquet. The past 2 years we have assisted financially in hosting the USA Water Polo pre-season camp at MICDS. We also help differ costs for club teams and work to aid the efforts of referees who seek continuing education in order to strengthen the officiating in our area.
Our goals include expanding the number of high school teams in St. Louis and across the state, building up a women’s water polo program in the area and assisting in growing youth development programs. If you are a parent of a player (or former player), a coach, an official or just a fan, please consider coming to the meeting and looking for ways you can help keep Missouri Water Polo up and running.
Thank you
John O’Sullivan
President – Missouri Water Polo.
